C&G

C & G / Shears / Shredders / Balers

About C & G:

C&G became involved in the recycling industry in the early 1960’s, in these years automatic scrap pre-compression shearing was undertaken through the use of large heavy expensive equipment only accessible to a small range of users.

In the 1970’s, they developed the idea of building a range of less bulky equipment. This radical change both reduced the purchase price and running costs making the Taurus range of equipment available to a wide range of users.

There are now in excess of 500 machines in operation around the world.

They have also been developing, manufacturing and marketing a range of shredders for use in both the scrap and waste recycling industries.

The strong position of C&G Taurus brand of equipment is made possible by the network of agents that, in order to commercialise the Taurus product must guarantee to provide a comprehensive after sales service for their clients, equipped with the necessary personnel and equipment to assist the customer promptly.

Shears:

SHEARS The current Taurus range of pre-compression shears from 400T-1200T are the result of many years of continual design, development and optimise the most up to date materials and products in their construction.

The Taurus machine offers a modern, powerful and cost efficient method of processing scrap.

Taurus Special Features

Shear Frame

Superior knife adjustment by heavy-duty simple eccentric device, transferring baling or wedging forces direct to knife platen retaining blocks.

Very heavy knife platen retaining blocks – allows baling against platen without deflection.

Superior shear frame design – with minimum “cut-out” eliminating shear frame flexing.

Reinforced PTFE knife platen liners give very long life.

Twin shear cylinders allow large piston areas to maximise cutting force at lower working pressure.

Charging Box

Wrap over box to give maximum volume for loading.

Over travel on curved side to reduce charge width and ease load on pusher.

The faces of the wings are constructed of thick Hardox plate – not welded on 10/12mm thick liners.

Wings have all internal stiffeners keyed to outside cover plates giving a very rigid wing construction to eliminate twisting – inspect one of our 12 year old wings in operation.

Wings have solid outer edges to eliminate damage when folding.

Full safety protection on wings to protect again maloperation.

Being of modular design a variety of charging box lengths is an option.

Power Pack and Control Systems

Main hydraulic pumps are high quality Linde variable displacement to maximise efficiency and reduce operation costs, with excellent UK back up if required.

Control valves are CETOP standards.

Electronic and electric controls are Telemechanic or Siemens, readily available throughout the UK.

A variety of electric power and diesel engines is available.

A full radio control system comes as standard allowing one-man operation thus keeping labour costs down.

Shredders:

C&G offer a range of shredders to handle both industrial waste and scrap metal.

Diablo

The Diablo pre-shredder has been developed to pre-process light iron and ferrous bales prior to being fed into a hammer mill. The installation of this type of machine has several benefits to the operator.

Almost eliminates the risk of explosion within the mill.

Increases mill production.

Greatly reduces component wear (hammers, wear plates etc).

Python

The Python range of slow speed high torque shredders have a proven record within the recycling industry and dependent on the machine blade configuration they are capable of processing a wide range of materials including tyres, plastics, wood, domestic appliances etc.

Hydro Chopper

This range of single shaft high torque shredder with large triangular tip blades has been specifically designed to process electric cable (SWA), aluminium scrap and bulky refuse.

“B” Shredder

The Python “B” Shredder with integral diesel or electric drive will process demolition wood, white goods, plastic drums, cardboard, household refuse and awkward materials such as carpets and mattresses.

The processed material can be sieved then sorted and then separated or densified with ease. The machine can be fitted with a special comb to control the product size.

Advantages are:

Low maintenance.

Blades can be welded on site.

High efficiency hydraulics.

Low operating costs.

Available as roll on/off, transportable with logs or mobile on trailer.

Balers:

From the early 1990’s it was evident that the replacement of the small hammer mill shredders with large HP shredders sited at specific locations around the country would require the transportation of automobile scrap over long distances. To minimise transport costs, processors would require equipment to bale these cars to reduce shipment costs.

C&G have over the years developed a range of balers to suit most companies’ requirements from the 6m box static unit, mobile units, transportable units and finally the ES500 range which is designed to be moved on a hook loader.
